Alpbach has a population of 2,600 and occupies a beautiful location on a sunny plateau at some 1,000m above sea level. Care has been taken to preserve it's  architectural style. Since 1953 new houses have only been built in the typical style of the Alpbachtal valley. In 1983 it was voted Austria's Most Beutiful Village.
 In summer the village explodes in a riot  lovely floral decorations .In winter it welcomes skiers who particularly enjoy the traditional atmosphere.
