The Salzkammergut is
located close to Salzburg and its airport
and is
an area of picturesque lakes and mountains bordering
on Styria, Upper Austria and Salzburg provinces.
Living in the
mountains in a ski resort is OK for some, but ski
resorts are mostly deserted in summer.
For a
permanent base and for summer and winter holidays
there is much more to do in this area,
although
it still has easy access to all the major ski areas.
